Part of his mission involves rescuing a lovely Highland lassie, and in the passion that grows between them, Ramos and Mairi find a new dream.

*****Really great story, another book I couldnt put down all night! Cant wait to start the next book.  This one for me wasnt my fav out of the series so far, and wasnt exactly how I pictured Ramous acting in my mind from him being in the 2nd book. But non the less a beautiful story!

Highland Guardian - Melissa Mayhue - Book #2

SARAH DOUGLAS is a successful thirty-eight year old romance novelist with big problems. She's come to Scotland on a three month working vacation hoping to recapture her muse - who's deserted her - and resolve the issue of her strange 'feelings' - the ones which allow her to sense the emotions of everyone she touches.

From the moment she arrives, however, her problems only intensify. She's being stalked, but by whom? Is he real or only a figment of her imagination? What about the darkly handsome owner of the cottage she's leasing? How is she ever going to deal with her growing attraction to a man ten years her junior? She knows from bitter experience men - particularly men who look like Ian - aren't interested in women like her.

IAN MCCULLOUGH is neck-deep in troubles of his own. As a half-mortal descendent of Faeries, he's a Guardian, sworn to protect both the mortals of this world and the Portals leading to the Faerie Realm. After six hundred years, he's confident he knows what to expect in just about every situation and exactly how to handle it. But he never counted on a woman like Sarah showing up in his life; a woman who intrigues and charms him. A woman who turns out to be of Faerie descent herself, although she has no idea of her heritage and no belief in any Otherworld beings.

When he's assigned to protect her, Ian finds the job is tougher than he could possibly have imagined. Oh, he can handle the stalker and the ex-husband and even the renegade Faeries trying to kidnap her for their own purpose. It's falling in love and forsaking his status as Guardian, a position he swore to honor at his father's deathbed, he's having trouble with.

Both Sarah and Ian struggle to battle the demons of self-doubt and their individual pasts. In the process they learn that healing will take the strongest magic of all, the true love that occurs only between two souls fated to be together.

****This week was horrible. My husband having his base attacked sent me in to freaking out land. At the time I just didn't want to do anything even read. So I made myself read... I just don't know what to say about this one... usually I'm not a big fan of present day books, I'll read them only if they are in other countries (I know its weird) . I love getting lost in past history. But this one I just couldn't put down once I started, I thought the first book was amazing... this one.. I really got lost in the characters. I felt like I really was there watching everything unfold before my eyes. I really connected with the main characters Sarah and Ian. Ian is really the perfect man. Just absolutely fell in love with these two. I highly recommend reading this one. Hands are already itching to read book #3! Especially since I know who the main characters are! Melissa Mayhue is becoming one of my favorite authors. Just love Highland/Fae stories, and she is a master at it!

Thirty Nights with a Highland Husband - Melissa Mayhue - Book #1

In the misty recesses of time a Faerie Prince loses his true love, prompting a blessing on all his mortal female descendants, bestowing his powers on them that they should be protected and allowed to find their own true loves.

CONNOR MACKIERNAN is a 13th century Scottish warrior, a descendent of that Faerie prince, a man who lives only for honor and duty, but he has a huge problem. His experience of betrayal at the hands of women has left him suspicious and distrustful of any woman's motives. He's sworn never to marry, but finds he must do exactly that to save his sister. With the help of his well-meaning aunt, and a little Faerie magic, the search for a bride is on.

CAITLYN CORYELL is a 21st century woman who longs to be strong enough to find love without sacrificing who she is. Her experience with an unfaithful fiance who wanted to marry her only for her family's money and influence has left her doubting her desirability and any man's reason for wanting her. Imagine her surprise when she puts on an antique pendant and Connor appears in her bedroom, begging her help to save his sister. He offers a simple adventure: travel to his time, marry him and return home. But nothing's simple when the adventure backfires, trapping Cate in the 13th Century.
An ancient Faerie's blessing reaches across the barriers of time to unite two emotionally wounded people. But it will take more than the magic of the Fae to heal their hearts. It will require the most powerful magic of all - the magic of true love.

My Thoughts:

Amazon recommended this book to me a couple weeks ago, so I looked it up on google books and read the first 2 chapters.... was HOOKED from the beginning so I found the whole set on EBay. Watched USPS website to see when they were going to arrive, I was like a little kid on Christmas with my nose to the window to see when the mail man would come. Read this book non stop all day and just had to write my thoughts on this one. Characters are so well thought out. You really learn to love them from the beginning. You share in their love, hate, sorrow. Even want to shake them a couple times. I can't say enough good things about this book. I all ready know its going to be another long day reading the second book, actually probably even a long week with all 6 books. So who ever reads this,  if any one does... Go out and get it! Just love reading about the Fae!

Christina Dodd - The Greatest Lover in All England

Since childhood, Rosie's life has been the stage—passing herself off as a boy playing women's roles in the somewhat disreputable theatrical troupe of actor Danny Plympton, Rosie's adoptive father. But when unanticipated danger confronts them, they must flee London, taking refuge at the estate of Sir Anthony Rycliffe. A handsome, devil-may-care rakehell, Tony quickly sees through Rosie's disguise.
But a lush, womanly form and eminently kissable lips are not the ravishing young beauty's only secrets—and the burning attraction Tony feels for her does not lessen the peril she has brought to his doorstep. The dashing rogue is determined to strip the irresistible lady of her mysteries—and her masculine garb—using all of his fabled seductive powers. After all, Tony has a reputation to uphold, as . . .
The Greatest Lover in All England

Thoughts:

Over all it was a good book. It was kind of slow, its not a book that I get hooked on and read the whole thing front to back in a day.... actually took me all week... Character were slightly awkward... probably because the main character has always lived as a man, she doesn't know what to do when someone likes her... I did like how the author tied William Shakespeare and Queen Elizabeth into the story line, I felt like the author really portrayed them well into likable sub characters.

Cara Miles- Lord of the Night

Summery:

This story is about a man who has everything taken from him, his father killed, his title taken away and his lands given to his worst enemy. 13 years later Jamie comes back to take back what is his, even storming in on a wedding to his once betrothed to claim her as his. After a hasty wedding to Jamie, they go back to his lands and Jamie works on clearing his name as a traitor to the king while trying to deny his feelings for his reluctant bride.

My thoughts.....

If your looking for a book that is packed with steamy sex scenes and a little bit of a story this is the book for you. Personally I was hoping for more story, and less fighting between the two main characters. It got to the point where I just wanted to shake them and yell "you guys obviously like/love each other, grow up and stop fighting over dumb stuff". Its a ok book just not one that I would probably read again, it was a little bit of a struggle to get through this one...

Devotion - Katherine Sutcliffe

This romantic tale, set in 19th-century England, is cut from the same cloth as Jane Eyre. When autumn comes, Trey Hawthorne, a duke, hasn't fortified his estate, and it costs him dearly. Highwaymen not only rob him; they leave him a cripple.
But Maria Ashton, his nurse, devotes herself to his recovery and pulls him back from the brink of insanity. She earns Hawthorne's gratitude, then his love. Can it last?
"Flawlessly plotted and written...one of the best romantic stories in years." (Publishers Weekly)

***I came across this book about a year ago when I bought a lot of about 80 books off craigslist and its sat on my shelf ever since. I'd never heard of the author before in all my years of reading romance novels but was very surprised by this book. Absolutely loved it from beginning to end even stayed up all night to finish it. This is a great touching book, characters are very easy to love, its like you've known Marie and Trey all your life. Katherine is a amazing author who creates such a story you can easily imagine that your right there in the middle of it. It touches your heart and made me smile through the whole thing. Its not your naughty romance where there is sex in the first 10 pages... Its a true romance story, filled with love and hope. Highly recommend this to those of you who love to curl up to a good book at night waiting for their prince.
